Playout control

This section of the rundown tab interacts with the broadcast server to handle the playout of a rundown.

Since video servers take time to load a video file for playout, Nebula always loads the next clip while playing the current one. The clip currently playing is highlighted red, while the next one (cued) is green. When the on-air mode is active, double-clicking the item in the rundown view cues it (and its playback starts while the current one is finished).

Additionally, you may use buttons from the on-air section to control the playback.

The current and cued items, as well as current position, duration, progress, and remaining time, are displayed right at the top.

The on-air mode can be toggled on/off using the TV icon from the toolbar.

Run modes

By default, the application plays items one after another, but this behavior can be changed to create loops within the blocks, wait conditions and so on. See run modes chapter in the rundown description.

Plugins

Plug-in panel can be toggled on/off using the plug icon from the toolbar.

Available plugins are listed in tabs and allow triggering of on-air graphic such as emergency crawls, banners, “coming up next” info-bars, and other playout secondary events.
